Take
a walk around your block and you probably won’t even notice any
home’s gutter system. Instead, you’ll probably take notice of
your neighbor’s well-designed slate roof, a strategically placed
dormer window, or innovative and eco-friendly solar roof panels.
This
is rather unfortunate considering gutter systems are the unsung
heroes of every home. While the roof protects residents from the
effects of the sun and wind, gutters are regarded as merely extended
portions. In reality, gutter systems play a critical role in keeping
a home dry.
Gutter
systems are designed to direct rain water away from the foundation
and funnel it to the ground or storm water system. Without gutters,
rain water will be free to flow down from the roof and cause the
structure to erode or rot.
The
problem is that rain water often comes with all forms of debris, like
leaves and twigs. These can clog gutters and keep them from doing
their job, which means the gutters could use some protective
measures. That’s where gutter protection systems come in.
Gutter
protection systems capture these unwanted elements to ensure they
don’t litter and clog passageways. They are made from durable
materials like aluminum, copper, stainless steel, and galvanized
steel, among others. At the same time, they help maintain the gutter
systems’ good condition despite exposure to rain water. Consider
these if you want to make your gutters’ job a little easier.
