Spring is now in full swing,
which means it’s time to get some gutter cleaning done. If you haven’t done so
yet, then it’s high time to get on that ladder with your broom and get those
leaves and debris off from your gutter.
Gutter cleaning is one of
the responsibilities a homeowner can easily overlook. Unfortunately, neglecting
this part of the home comes with dire consequences. Your home is built with
gutters for a reason. If your gutters don’t do their job properly, you could be
facing basement flooding, and even problems with your foundation. You don’t
want that to happen. With that in mind, here are some springtime gutter
cleaning tips:
- Clean your gutters during the weekend after everything has fallen. If you believe that your gutters are already blocked, do it before the next rainfall hits. This will ensure that rainwater will flow freely during that time.
- In cleaning out the gutters, some homeowners prefer a leaf blower. Others, a garden hose. However, to keep dirt from blowing all over the place, the best tools for the job include your basic bucket and scoop. Remove the dirt using the scoop, drop it in the bucket, and empty the bucket’s contents into a heavy-duty garbage bag when full.
Don’t want to do this every
spring? Then you might want to look into having gutter guards installed.
